Buya has been part of the adventure tourism industry for twenty- seven years as a tour leader in the all over Mongolia, one of the pioneer tour leader in the Mongolian Tourism. Buyaa has been exploring the country through mountaineering, and trekking with a growing interest in trekking and outdoor activity. He is also a meditation instructor in Tantric Buddhism. His interests have always been interwoven with his work and jobs have included: Annual International Marathon in the Gobi desert, the Central Mongolia and Working as a trekking leader throughout Altai Mountain, Gobi Desert, the northern and western Mongolia. The main focus of his work in this industry is sustainable tourism and he has acted as a consultant and coach for tour guides and travel companies.

Gantsetsge, teacher and therapist has been teaching yoga in Mongolia since 2001. Ganaa intensively practices over the years in Ashtanga - Vinyasa, Therapeutic and Zen yoga. She established, ran, and taught in a yoga studio for over 10 years, running workshops around the world, and guided many yoga festivals and conventions in Mongolia and South Korea. She is a senior therapist in deep tissues and a certified yoga instructor by the Mongolian Yoga Association. She is a founder and teacher at the Zen Yoga Studio in Ulaanbaatar. She has been working as a yoga Instructor with us on many wonderful trekking through Mongolia. Ganaa is an energetic trekker, gifted writer and mother of her three lovely children. She has been trained many wonderful yoga teachers.

 Day 1. Arrive in Ulaanbaatar and visit the city

Ulaanbaatar

Our driver will meet you at the airport and transfer to your hotel, settling in, and rest. You will meet your guide at the hotel. Discover the Chingis Khaan Square. In the evening, we will enjoy Mongolian performances including folk dances, throat singing and contortion at Tumen Ekh. Experience Mongolian cuisine for dinner at the traditional restaurant.

 Day 2. Visit the former Mongolian capital, Kharkhorin

Driving:  380 km - 5 hours
Hiking:  5 km - Easy

After a breakfast, we'll travel from Ulaanbaatar to Kharkhorin town, former capital of the Mongol Empire. The legendary city was founded by Chingis khan in 1220. One of the Mongolian oldest and attractive monasteries Erdene Zuu, was built in 1585 by Abtai Sain Khan, is located there.  At the Elsen Tasakhai sand dunes, take a short walk and practice a yoga session on the dunes. Once we reach Kharkhorin, we accommodate near from the town in a peaceful eco yurt camp and relax.

Day 3. Arrive in Gardin Khad Mountain

Driving:  260 km 4 hours
Hiking:  10 km – Easy

In the morning, we'll take a short walk up to the small hill to see the Orkhon Valley, is inscribed as a World Heritage by UNESCO then we will visit the Erdene Zuu Monastery and the Museum of Kharkhorin. After lunch, we take the road on towards granite Mountain Gardin Khad with sunning rocky formations. This drive offers amazing insight into the life and culture of the nomads. In the evening, we’ll meet other members of the group from Ulaanbaatar and have a fresher’s party for warm welcome. Stay overnight in a tent.

Day 4. Ikh Bogd Mountain National Park

Hiking: 8 km - Moderat
Driving: 200 km  - 5 hours

After breakfast, we trek for about 2 hours to cover 6 km and have a morning yoga and meditation sessions. Then we'll head to the south, a massive mountain Ikh Bogd, is the highest mountain of Gobi-Altai Mountains which dominates in Southern Mongolia. It has an elevation of 3,957 metres (12,982  ft). In Ikh Bogd Mountain, ancient men had lived 700 thousand years ago. Once we reach there, we’ll set up our camp and rest. Overall altitude gain where we sleep is 2,800 metres (9,186 ft). You'll enjoy ultimate freedom of open space.

Day 5. Trekking in the Ikh Bogd Mountain National Park

Driving: 35 km - 1 hour
Hiking: 20 km - Moderate

Today we will begin the trekking with walk through the stunning valley as it is steadily rises into a ridge mountain. An amazing view stretches endless in all directions from the summit. Rocky peaks loom over changing landscapes of the National Park that are ideal for wildlife viewing, hiking, and mountain climbing. We will practice yoga and meditation in this wilderness. After 5 hours- trekking, we’ll transferred to Gobi’s camel camp and spend a night in pleasant gers. Taking a walk to see both the sunrise and sunset views from the nearby cliffs is a great experience.

Day 6. Eej Khairkhan Mountain Nature Reserve

Driving: 300 km – 6 hours
Hiking: 5 km  - Easy

Following breakfast, we will explore the ruins of one of the biggest Monastery in Gobi, then head to the gigantic mountain Eej Khairkhan (Mother mountain). Mother Mountain at 2,275 metres (7,464 ft), is located in the north of the Great Gobi Strictly Protected Area. It is a sacred Mountain that worshiped by Mongolians for centuries and protected due to its extraordinary rocky formations and landscapes. On the way we will have a picnic lunch and wonderful yoga stretch. We explore at Bayan Tooroi, an oasis on the way.  Once we reach the mountain, we will camping and take a short walk  up to the hills to acclimatize to the heat of Gobi then come back down to sleep.

Day 7. Trekking in Mother Mountain

Hiking: 20 km -  Moderate

Starting at the campsite, we will hike up to the nearby viewpoint at the eastern end for an excellent view from above. The landscape is magnificent. The trail leads along unique outstanding rocky formations to the particularly nine rock Bowls at different heights, which pours water from a bowl to the next bowl at lower height. We will have a meditation and yoga sessions then. Today we will visit a camel breeder family to experience their nomadic way of life. Have a khorkhog, Mongolian barbecue. Stay overnight in a ger for guest. Each day, we will discover incredible scenes of Gobi.

 Day 8. The Burkhan Buudai Mountain Nature Reserve

Driving: 120 km - 2 hours

We will take the road towards to reach  Burhan Buudai Mountain, a naturally sculptured formation in Gobi-Altai province. It is included in the mountain meadows and the subdivision of mountainous steppe within the bunches of rising Altai ranges and the peak is 3,765 metres (1,200 ft) high eternally frozen summit. In this beautiful branch of Mongol Altai ranges, interesting creatures and winged-creatures, there are plenty of plants and medicinal herbs. Once we reach there, take a short walk up to the hills to acclimatize then come back down to sleep. Stay overnight in a tent.

 Day 9. Trekking in Ontsyn Yavar

Hiking: 15 km - Moderat
Driving: 30 km - 1 hour

After a morning yoga session, a short journey takes us to Ontsyn Yavar, brilliantly colorful limestone cliffs, one of most impressive and unexplored area by tourism in Gobi Desert. It was an ancient seabed which was featured a sedimentary structure and created over millions of years. The landscape is incredibly amazing that seems like in the other planet. The different colored layers indicate different periods. From distance, its view is spectacular. We will trek for about 3 hours around the cliffs to explore this unique corner of Gobi. Stay overnight in a tent.

Day 10. The Khar Azargin Mountain Nature Reserve

Hiking:  6 km -  Easy
Driving: 180 km - 4 hours 

After the morning yoga sessions, we will head to the Uliastai River's Canyon in Khar Azargin Mountain through Burkhan Buudai Mountain and Shargin Gobi. The Shargin Gobi is one of the 33 Gobi areas of Mongolia. The area belongs to Natural Reservation, Sharga Mankhani Tal which in order to conserve Bukhun, Mongolian Saiga antelope that listed in the “International Red Book”. Khar Azargin Nuruu is a part of the Altai Mountain Range, has an elevation of 2,500 - 3,100 metres (8,201- 10,170 ft), protected due to its unique ecosystem and wild life. Once we reach there, we will take a walk for exploring around. It will be your last day of trekking! Stay overnight in a tent.

Day 11. Fly back to Ulaanbaatar

Altai - Ulaanbaatar

Driving: 120 km - 3 hours
Flight: 2 hours

Farwell time, we will say goodbye to our teachers, crew and team members then separate as a small group with your guide and driver to Altai town for the flight back to Ulaanbaatar. Have a lunch at the local restaurant then take a flight for 2 hours. Our driver will pick up from the airport to transfer you to the hotel.

Flight back  

We will go with you to the international airport of Ulaanbaatar. The transfer can be organized at the time you want, according to the schedule of your flight. You will return home with a memory of your incredible adventure.
