LKHAGVAA & BATJARGAL

Batjargal “Batjaa” and “Lkhagva” are the first faces you will meet during your journeys to the West.
With a natural warm welcome, they are the perfect hosts to feel at home, before going to the real adventures. They are very communicable and friendly, dedicated and hardworking people. For a Village family, they are the perfect people to know for their creativity and talents. After many years traveling with us, they decided to be part of the Gobi Mountain Lake Project, to introduce the warmth of the Mongolian family hospitality with their own identity - homestyle - service, cosy, gentle, comfortable overnights for our guests.

Lkhagva herself is a talented cook, prepares mostly vegetarian based meals, which is interestingly odd for the Mongolian countryside. She takes care of a land just outside of the city, where she cultivates lots of vegetables for the food. They together own a supermarket well know to the location, that serves as a road coffee shop stop. Their location is around the edge of the main road, center-west of the city, a perfect place on the way to our destinations. Bartjargal is originally a truck driver, that drove to Russia hundred of miles away. He successfully understood how important is the role of transportation of the goods, and the need for good infrastructure for the country to develop.

As a young couple, they started to drive around the village and the countryside and collected the handmade dairy products from the nomads. They then sold it to the people of the capital city Ulaanbaatar. They truly are hard working people, and have a dedicated sense of service. They were blessed to start their own business this way, before building their own supermarket, and following this their renovated home, hosting travelers.

They have two children - adults now, that both established their own families. With them, Gobi Mountain Lake is happy to find a solution for our guests, when most of the travelers and crowds would remain at the same hotels in town.

Because we are dedicated to the well being of our guests and their comfort, we would like to introduce you to a different place to spend a night or two, where you can be the only one there, and be pleased with a high standard of service and yet, being close to local people. It is authentic, and the key point is to stay out of the high traffic generated by the commercial Ger camps all around the ancient capital city. It is our own way to keep the concept of luxury, with small groups only, to keep a higher quality standard of service, and privacy as key factors of interest. Please enjoy your stay at our Kharkhorin private homestay hotel, with a healthy meal, and a beautiful view from where the Mongols made history.
