YOGA ACTIVITIES

It is true that traveling around nature brings more health benefits. Being on the move contributes to such health enhancement, and it is important to combine the right amount of activity with some periods of rest, In order to create a dynamic and positive effect on our own body, as well as the mind. Following this idea, Yoga - which means “Union”, can be a great solution, joining together stillness and movements, rigidity yet flexibility to the body and the mind. It is very common nowadays in Mongolia to adapt this practice to the outdoor activities of a travel program.
Gobi Mountain Lake is proud to include the yoga practice in some of their key journeys together with horse riding, and trekking so an active and healthy life surrounded by the best landscapes of Western Mongolia.

WORKING THE BODY AND THE MIND
Working the body through those physical exercises means also working the mind. The goal here is to create a bond between both, becoming more aware, thus being in the present moment.
It is only as the mind gets calmer that a state of peacefulness can be achieved, and therefore feeling at home wherever you are in this world, making one with your body. Our typical morning class is based on a dynamic Vinyasa style, a soft, gentle, and smooth flow from pose to pose synchronized with the breath for best results. We practice different variations of Sun salutations where the key is to connect poses with the breath.

A PHILOSOPHY AND INTENTION SETTING FOR A BETTER DAY: A JOURNEY WITH VINYASA YOGA AND SUN SALUTATION
The practice of sun salutation is a celebration of life. Every movement, every intention is to focus on being part of this life and feel deeply connected. We set our minds to be grateful for the life we have.
The most important tip while doing it is to concentrate your focus on the heart chakra, to be aware, feel and listen to your heartbeat. This practice is very beneficial since it requires you to really develop your own sensitivity, while thinking of being “rooted” to the ground, as if you were a tree, absorbing the energy from the ground. With this practice, you are the connection between the ground (Earth) and the sky, as your roots (legs) extending in branches (arms) reach for the sky and create balance. It is a deep and powerful philosophical kind of yoga. Associated with meditation, it truly is a balancing method to feel more rested, in harmony with the elements, the land, Earth, and the spirits. We Chose this type of practice to bring maximum benefits yet being still very accessible to anyone who wants to give it a try.

ENJOY THE JOURNEY AND DEVELOP THE LONG-LASTING BENEFITS
We can have a class dedicated to a more relaxed, and traditional Hatha Yoga, associated with restorative and Yin yoga styles. This involves seated, supine, and prone poses, using sometimes props to help our students to hold their postures a little longer. It gives them time to focus on more passive stretching and have a deeper state of relaxation. This class's main goal is to slow the nervous system down and quiet the mind, in order to heal the body from any sort of stress.

Both methods are suitable for all levels addressing the needs and personal conditions of each practitioner, always respecting each one's individual rhythm. We always recommend discussing with us your possible medical conditions or worries prior to any form of physical activity of this sort, in order to bring the best and efficient form to your practice.
